  • File Galleries upload problem    ()
    We have set up several file galleries on our Tiki site and we have a problem that the upload dropdown menu often shows the last uploaders gallery instead of the gallery owner's gallery. I tested clearing the cache and then it shows the uploaders gallery. Has anyone come across this cacheing problem in file galleries and can offer a solution.
  • Problem with permissions and documentation - version 27.0    ()
    Hello everybody, I recently installed version 27.0 and am trying to apply changes to the permission structure. Having made my changes, when hitting the apply button nothing happens. Permissions are not applied. Coincidentally, I went to the documentation site to see the parameters for the image plugin. When clicking on a TAB to get more information - nothing happens. Clicking on the NoTab button - nothing happens. Can anybody enlighten me about these problems? Are they related to version 27 or to some settings I need to verify/change. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Ulrich
  • Codemirror and heavy scripts    ()
    Hi, when checking the loading time of tiki 21, 24, or 27, if codemirror is enabled, I see a huge codemirror.js (1.2MB) on all pages. We only use syntax highlighting on specific pages/structures that only admins (developers) can use: is there a way to load codemirror.js only for specific group/pages, and without having to switch codemirror in the admin page each time an authorized user needs it? There is a similar issue with recaptcha__en.js (550 KB): is it possible to load it only when using tiki-contact.php? thanks, -- mb
  • Tiki icon on top bar    ()
    With site layout set as classic bootstrap, the official tiki icon appears on the very left of the top bar, next to the site logo. How can I get rid of it?
  • New to Tiki can anyone help    ()
    Hi, recently updated to Tiki Wiki 26.2 and have noticed that registered users cannot see images in forum posts. I have been through permissions and cannot find any obvious problem. can anyone give me any insight what the problem might be. Or show me an example of permissions that may allow registered users to see images in forums. Registered uswers can see images in blogs etc… This has me baffled. Joseph
  • File Gallery Revamp or how to reference image by using wiki/markdown markup    ()
    Hello, I'm very excited that File Gallery Revamp is completed, hoping it can allow me to use the same/similar syntax for referencing images in my posts… When using Markdown markup in e.g. some static site generator, the syntax is as follows:
    Copy to clipboard
    [alt-text](image-url)
    but it does not work or I do not know how to do it. I have uploaded file dhanvantari.png in the file gallery named "Test" and tried to reference it in a wiki page using Markdown syntax like:
    Copy to clipboard
    [Dhanvantari]{dhanvantari.png)
    but I only get "Dhanvantari{dhanvantari.png)" rendered on a page. In the properties of file gallery I configured it to use the following wiki markup
    Copy to clipboard
    {img fileId="%filename%" thumb="box"}
    instead of the default one, but I get: "Plugin not found" from "Plugin Image". Same thing does happen in a page using Wiki markup. However, if I use standard syntax like:
    Copy to clipboard
    {img fileId="1" thumb="box"}
    everything is fine, but it is a bit cumbersome since I'd like to organize my media stuff in a tree-like fashion with subfolders of the file gallery representing posts, categories, topics or whatever and then being able to reference it using filename/name. (The properties field provides an opportunity to use No value assigned as well. So, my question is whether TIki-27 does allow using Markdown syntax for referencing images and/or how to reference media by (file)name instead of fileID? Sincerely, Gour
  • TikiWiki 27 - Accounting    ()
    Hi I've had a brief play with this and there are a couple of things that make the current setup not very workable. The workflow assumes that a business creates a set of "Books" at a certain point in time ''and then creates a chart of accounts'' before entering transactions and then "closing" the books at some point in the future and restarting another set of "Books" for the next period. This workflow doesn't make sense for a couple of reasons. The chart of accounts is eternal, therefore they should exist outside of the periods of transactions and not setup every year. Also siloing transactions into time periods makes them distinct rather than occurring in a continuum. Appreciate that this is not meant as a replacement for Xero or QuickBooks, but the semantic model doesn't work as it is, at least for me.
  • Installation on Ubuntu    ()
    Hi I've tried installing on an Ubuntu machine to test and have found the guidance to be not very helpful. The documentation here https://doc.tiki.org/Installation assumes that all prerequisites are in place, whereas the documentation here https://doc.tiki.org/Ubuntu-Install assumes that you have nothing installed. Delving further into the Ubuntu documentation, rather than being written from the expectation that as of the day of writing, the end user would be expecting to install the latest version of TikiWiki (ie 27), it instead assumes that a user of Ubuntu 22.04 wants to downgrade PHP back to version 7.4 from the default install of 8.1 in order to install a prior version of TikiWiki. It is not clear where the PHP7.4 diversion ends as there are a number of elements required to be added. The installation instructions then go into Apache but omit the requirement for the ServerName to be set in the directives. At this point https://doc.tiki.org/Ubuntu-Install#Install_Tiki_24_through_git the assumption is that the end user installs v24 which has been superseded by v27 which has a different and easier method of installation (just following the instructions for 24 and changing "24" to "27" isn't a great experience as v27 has the setup.sh option of "b" that does a lot of the stuff that was previously done manually). This linear document format is not really a very clear way to provide an end user with the information that they need. I would suggest that the installation guide be in the format of
    • Requirements a, b, c,
      • How to install requirements a
      • How to install requirements b
      • How to install requirements c
    • Setting up the database
    • Install v27
    • Other installations
      • How to install v26
      • How to install v24
    The expectation is that a linear document has all of the instructions from start to finish and the internet assumption that the document is the most up to date available, so if you come across the instructions for a prior version then that is because the documentation was last updated for that version.
  • Installation Guide Needs To Be Tested    ()
    Hi I've followed the instructions here https://doc.tiki.org/Ubuntu-Install to the tee for Ubuntu 22.04 and the instructions are wildly out of date - I've spent over two hours so far due to there being numerous references to things that have been updated or no longer work with php 8.x I cannot point to specifics because I am so far down the rabbit hole of having to update items left and right, but it would be useful if someone tested it in a fresh VM.
