In general, group membership permits to accumulate what a user can do or see.
* Tiki users can be part of many ((Groups)). This permits to accumulate ((permissions)). So a user in three groups has the cumulative permissions of each of the 3 groups.
* Each ((module)) can be hidden or shown to groups. So a user in 3 groups can see all the modules available to any of these 3 groups.

For some things, it's not possible to accumulate, and we need to know what is the default group.

For example, ((Custom Home)) permits to redirect user to a specific page after login. Even if user is in 3 groups, one must be chosen as the default group. Picking a default group is not mandatory, but one must be picked for features like this to work.
