New permission structure on doc.tikiwiki.org!

Hi!

I reorganized the permissions here. On one end, way too many people had full admin permissions (which they were not really using) and on the other end, normal (Registered) users could not edit wiki page.

So I cleaned it up. Let's all find together the best delicate balance for permissions. I have been somewhat out of touch for the last few weeks/months so maybe I am not aware of the reasons which lead to these decisions.

New permissions for Anonymous
tiki_p_forum_read
tiki_p_read_article
tiki_p_read_comments
tiki_p_view
tiki_p_view_categories
tiki_p_view_faqs
tiki_p_view_image_gallery
tiki_p_view_shoutbox
tiki_p_view_stats
tiki_p_view_trackers
tiki_p_wiki_view_attachments
tiki_p_wiki_view_comments
tiki_p_wiki_view_history
tiki_p_wiki_view_ratings

Registered:
tiki_p_edit
tiki_p_forum_post
tiki_p_forum_post_topic
tiki_p_upload_images
tiki_p_post_comments

Thanks!

M 😉

PS. If you lost permissions which you were using, don't feel bad. It's just an accident. Tell me and I will fix 😊

I think an anon should have at least one, clearly indicated, way to be heard. I'd actually advocate all 4 registered perms, with captcha, and w/o upload images. But really post_comments would be enough (again, with CAPTCHA).

Ok, let's try!

It looks ok to me, Marc. Thanks for taking care! 😊

Do we really want/need to have the "official" doc pages clogged with comment threads that may (or may not) be useful to an end user?

I agree that anonymous users need a way to "be heard" but instead of appending a comment to a wiki page, is there a better way? Such as logging a doc bug (tracker) or the Doc forum on tw.o?

I've added tiki_p_upload_picture to registered (needed to allow registered to contribute with screenshots right on each doc. page where they go, etc.)
