Do we really want/need to have the "official" doc pages clogged with comment threads that may (or may not) be useful to an end user?

I agree that anonymous users need a way to "be heard" but instead of appending a comment to a wiki page, is there a better way? Such as logging a doc bug (tracker) or the Doc forum on tw.o?
